Hello readers,
I am back this week with an update on my reading challenge for this year, which is to read at least 24 books in 2024.
I recently completed my 9th book of the year, The Hitch-Hikers Guide to the Galaxy which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I thought it would be a good moment to show you how my chapter tracker is looking as well as the total books read in 2024 in the form of a multi-coloured bookshelf.

This details the 9 books I have read so far this year and the colours represent which month I finished each book.
I read 5 books across January to March and so far I have read 4 between April and May.
I will be starting my 10th book tomorrow, to give my brain a moment before filling it with a new story.
I am planning to read over 5 books in June, beating my previous 3 months personal best! I am well on track to meeting my 24 books target by the end of this year, with a chance I may exceed it and have to find some space to add more books to the shelf.

This gives a more detailed look at how many chapters I have been reading a day.
March and April are the only two months in which I've been able to read everyday. I am also keeping a monthly tally of how many chapters I read, making sure they match with this tracker.
I am enjoying using pencil shading as a method of showing how many chapters I have read in a day and if I do a similar tracker next year, I may use the same method.
It is up to you if you wish to track daily, weekly or monthly chapter reading. I chose a combination of daily and monthly because I try to read at least one chapter a day, but that isn't always possible.
I will most likely be doing a 25 books in 2025 challenge, so I may use these layouts again or adapt them slightly. We shall see!
A great thing about my bullet journal is that I can change the way I use a tracker depending on what works best for me. I initially was only going to track monthly chapters but decided to challenge myself and keep tabs on daily reading as well.
Next year I will most likely be doing the same!
Thank you for reading,
Sophie 📚📖🗓
