Goodbye July, Hello August ☀️

Timelady Sophz

Hello readers,

I am back with a bumper blog of ideas this week, as it is the end of July so lots of logs were completed yesterday.

I spent around 2 hours updating trackers and completing the various logs yesterday so this week's blog will cover:

  • July: Complete monthly log, sleep and self care trackers

  • August: Set ups for the monthly log, sleep and self care trackers

July Monthly Log

Here is my completed July log. I had a very busy month with a lot of personal highs for me: number 1 being I survived my first roller derby game after injuring my ankle tendons earlier this year!

I read a graphic novel for the first time which confused my brain for tracking the chapters! This is because they don't have chapters, so I converted pages into chapter blocks for my log. But I discounted it from the monthly total of chapters read. I also managed to read 3 books in July too so that was good!

I have begun documenting when I am uploading my blog, at an attempt to be more organised. So I can now see throughout July I've managed weekly updates...ish. I will be continuing this for the remainder of the year.

July Sleep Tracker

As someone who desperately needs her sleep, July was a bit of a rocky month! I don't do well sleeping when it is super hot or if my brain won't stop whirring (thank you cyclothymia and anxiety 🙃).

This is why I track my sleep patterns, to help me identify okay why didn't I sleep well? What can I do differently?

July Self-Care Tracker

Now I love a mandala and to combine that with a self care tracker, this has become one of my favourite logs I've ever created! I had an Instagram comment suggestion to track self care ideas which ended up with this neat little system.

The three main ways I practice self-care are through bullet journalling (no surprise there), video games and reading. There are additional ways but these three are the ones that if I am feeling too manic to cope with life, I retreat into a book or my journal or a game. I just take some time out to do something for me.

Now one thing everyone should know about self care, is it is up to you and IT IS NOT SELFISH!

I hate it when people don't take time for themselves to do something they enjoy because they are too busy worrying about xyz. Even if its something like "hey I made my bed and brushed my hair today" and that makes you feel better? Well done!

And with that, goodbye July and hello August!

August Monthly Log

Here's my set up for August. I've added in some things into my log already because if I don't, I will 100% forget about them!

I used some mandala stencils to create some patterns and doodles across the log page. It helped me decide that my colour scheme for the month is going to include blue, purple and pink.

The quote for the month is quite lovely too: August is the border between Summer and Autumn. It is the most beautiful month I know - Tove Jansson.

August Sleep Tracker

This is a slightly adapted sleep tracker to the one I published earlier on in my blog and on Instagram. I added the days under the moons because it will make tracking so much easier. I will be writing the total hours slept in each moon. They will potentially be sideways or twisted to fit but I don't mind that.

August Self-Care Tracker

It is the same mandala shape as July. I decided for my self care trackers I would do two months per page and make those identical. Again as with July, I will be documenting when I do my bullet journal, play video games and read books.

And that brings me to the end of the blog for this week!

Next time I will be talking about the thought processes I had behind creating my self-care trackers and self-care quote logs.

As always, thank you for reading.
