Monthly Goal Setting

Timelady Sophz

This week I will be talking about how you can use a bullet journal to keep track of your monthly goals.

Now I am a person who loves a to do list, but recently I decided to branch into setting goals each month as well as daily tasks.

I began at the start of September and I have now set up pages to track my monthly goals through until December.

First you should decide how many goals you want to set and whether they are achievable within a month. You can choose to focus on different areas of your life for example, health, self-care, work or a hobby you want to get better at or dedicate more time to.

I focused on 5 monthly goals and I made a list of things I wanted to achieve before creating my goal page.

For example in September, I wanted to finish my audiobook recording, read daily and finish two books, skate as much as possible and update my blog. All of which I achieved.

In October I kept the focus on my reading, journalling daily and then included a challenge to complete 4 workouts using Ring Fit Adventure. I am trying to complete my museum collection in Stardew Valley so I added that as a video gaming goal too.

I chose a different mandala stencil for each month for the page header and decoration as well. I also used several shades of blue as the colour scheme for October through to December, as this links with my main colour scheme in the rest of my journal.

I used the inside of the stencils to add decoration to the pages, and focused on the outside for the headers.

I did some random doodles to fill in the blank spaces around the headings and the boxes for the goals.

I will try to use the colour combination I did for the December goals, as the colours look more organised than in November. For example, I like how the dark and light blue alternate in each box.

I am unsure what goals I will set for November and December, but I am sure they will involve journalling and reading.

Once I completed a goal, I went to the page and checked it off. I made sure to keep going back every so often to see how I was progressing over the month of October.

It is also important to note that it is not the end of the world if you don't complete your goals, they are for you and you alone. You are able to roll goals over to the next month too, as always it is your journal so you control how you use it!

I hope this provides you with some ideas for setting goals, if that is something you would like to try. There are lots of different layouts and designs you can find on Instagram, Pinterest and Google too, so go crazy!

As always, thank you for reading and I will see you next week,

Sophie
