How to create an Uninspirational Quote Log (Part One)

Timelady Sophz

Hello readers,

I have had a super busy week involving a pioneering training weekend for Scouts! I made some incredible things using knots I had never learnt before, including a giant carousel which could hold 4 grown adults. Anyway, so the next two blogs will probably be a bit short and sweet as I am heading into back to back camping weekends for Cubs and then Scouts!

However, despite this I have been able to create a brand new log: Uninspirational Quotes.

These are sarcastic quotes that begin like a inspirational quote, then end up completely off the rails.

So with that, on with the blog:

Why Uninspirational Quotes?

This year I joined a discord server for The Mallorca Files Fans and one of my friends on their mentioned uninspirational quotes. Cut to me about 5 minutes later sifting through Google and Pinterest having a whole world of different types of quotes opened up to me...and the quote log idea sprung into my head.

Now as you will have seen in previous posts I love a quote log, I sway more towards inspirational quotes usually but I decided to branch out and try uninspiring ones instead. I have had an absolute riot choosing which quotes to pop into this log, and I have decided I am creating a log of 12 (to start with).

Part One in this blog will cover the first six uninspirational quotes I found and used to create my log. Part Two will cover the second six next week.

Creating an Uninspirational Quote Log

As always, I begin most of my quote hunts using Google and Pinterest and I initially started with a goal of finding 10. It soon became clear that these quotes were too funny and dark to limit to 10, so I stuck with 12 as my maximum for this quote log. I will definitely be making more soon!

I did a little plan, scribbling these quotes onto post it notes and popping them into a notebook. I used washi tape for a title border as it looks so much better than a drawn line. I chose a post it note at random each day and wrote it into my bullet journal using different coloured pens and pencils. Next I created a different border design using multiple thicknesses of Faber-Castell PITT artist pens.

Uninspirational written in capital letters underlined with leaf patterned washi tape. A list of Uninspirational quotes in different coloured pens underlined with black pen. A smiley face in the bottom right hand corner.
Uninspirational Quote Log Part One

As you can see I changed the font I used for each quote, just to make them look slightly different as well.

The quotes I used for Part One:

  1. Your life can't fall apart if you never had it together

  2. When a dog lays on the floor all day it's "adorable" but when I do it...I'm "depressed"

  3. Before you judge me, try walking a mile in my shoes so you can see how little I care and how good it feels to be a mile away from you!

  4. An apple a day keeps anyone away if you throw it hard enough

  5. Once upon a time I was hungry... and that's what happened to your chocolate!

  6. Being a function adult everyday seems a bit excessive

Next week I will be adding even more Uninspirational quotes to this log, and I will post them here!

See you then and as always, thank you for reading my little blog!
