January Set Up

The best way to start a Saturday is to finish my set up for the month of January!

There are so many ways to create a monthly log. First you need to decide whether you want a single or double page spread for your log. From there the design is up to you. You can find inspiration on Pinterest, Instagram and Google for layout ideas and what to put on your monthly spread.

I always love having a calendar on a double page spread because this enables me see a whole month in one go. I always add doodles and quotes because they have always been something I enjoy.

For example this month the quote is: January, the first month of the year. A perfect time to start all over again. Changing energies and deserting old moods. New beginnings, new attitudes - Charmaine J Forde.

Also last year I started reading 22 books in 2022 but I never tracked how many chapters I read. So this year I have included a chapter tracker for each month in the top right hand corner ( see picture below). This will more than likely change as the year goes on.

That is the best thing about bullet journals, nothing stays the same. If you want to change something, you can! The bullet journal needs to be useful to you and if that means a log isn't quite working: change it.

This year I have also colour coded my monthly logs, again this is a personal choice.

But anyway, here is my first ever blog post and some inspiration for your monthly log!

January Monthly Log Set Up: Double Page Spread including quote & chapter tracker

Black and red pens and pencils next to a journal spread with red and black lettering outlining a two page diary for the month of January.

I have also put the equipment I used to create this spread: Staedtler pigment liner size 0.3, Faber-Castell red pencil that can be rubbed out, ruler, Faber-Castell

1511 document and the Faber-Castell PITT artist pens B and M.
