March update and trying out different font styles

Updated: Sep 18, 2023

Hello, apologies for the delay in uploading but here is the blog for this week!

This time I will be showing my completed March monthly and gratitude log and the layout design for April. The photo was taken as I had filled out the log up to the 7th of April so next weeks will be the completed April log.

I was quite busy in March but I really enjoyed the gratitude log so I will be cresting a one line a month gratitude log for my next blog.

Below is my finished March monthly log, there is nothing more satisfying than a completed log!

March Log (completed)

Double page bullet journal open with a monthly calendar filled out for every day of March. Quote written in red pen and red/purple blocks coloured in at the top right hand page tracking chapters read in March

As you can see I also managed to finish my book the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and begin Queenie (which I have also now finished).

I will show an update of my 23 books in 2023 challenge log in June, as that's half way through the year!

Here is my completed March gratitude log. I will be adapting this design for the 12 month gratitude log next week.

March Gratitude Log

Semi circle with black lines coming out of the circle, with purple text written on each line explaining things the author was grateful for in March

I will probably include a gratitude quote like I did here but the design will be very different as I will be using one line per month.

I also thought I'd update you with my gaming log. As you can see my top three games are still Animal Crossing, Fortnite and Wylde Flowers although I am playing more Mario Kart and Harvestella as well. I haven't included Harvestella in my log as it's not got any achievements to complete, I'm just really enjoying the story progession.

Gaming Log

Gaming log written in light blue pencil/pens. Table with coloured blocks covering months of the year on the top column with the days of the month along the left hand side of the table.

Here is my set up for April's monthly log including my chapters tracker.

April Monthly Log

Double page bullet journal open with a monthly calendar filled out for 7 days of April. Quote written in green pen and red blocks coloured in at the top right hand page tracking chapters read in April

As you can see I had taken this on the 7th so next week I will include the finished April log.

I changed the colour scheme for April to go with green, and I have decided this will continue to June. So I had red from January to March and green from April to June.

April's quote links to spring and my favourite weather: April showers!

Our spring has come at last with the soft laughter of April suns and shadows of April showers- Baron Caldwell Smith.

I have begun my set up for May which will be included in next week's blog.

Anyway, updates finished here is the newest log: my first ever font design idea page!

Font Design Ideas

A page full of different font styles with words and short quotes like believe in yourself, set yourself free, with little doodles in purple, blue and pink. A row of red, blue, pink and purple pens used underneath the page with some black fineliners too

I absolutely loved creating these designs!

I used a range of different pens which I included in the photos: red and blue Pilot frixon pens, pink and purple smooth zebra medium pens, Staedtler pigment liner size 0.3 and my usual Faber-Castell PITT artist pen size M and B.

I decided to use words and short inspirational quotes for my fonts. However I have seen some that use the same word repeated like 'header' or 'font'.

As I love quotes I went for a different word or short quote for each font type.

As always Pinterest, Instagram and Google were great places for inspiration for the font designs I ended up using. So if you are thinking of creating your own font idea page, I recommend seeing what's out there and giving them a try!

And I will see you next week for a 12 month gratitude log, the finished April logs (monthly and gaming) and the monthly set up for May.

Thank you for reading,
