Save your stuff and pop it in a bullet journal

Timelady Sophz

Hi lovely readers,

I am back with another bullet journal blog after a busy birthday weekend!

If you follow me on Instagram, you will know I love to save things and keep them in my bullet journal.

For example, this past week I cut up and stuck in the information about various feminists from an old calendar I had lying around.

So in that theme, I have decided to save an inspirational poster I used to have in my classroom back when I was teaching.

The poster before I cut it up

Of course you don't have to save these things, you can always recycle posters and calendars.

However, I couldn't throw this poster away or recycle it.

I adore inspirational quotes, my friends and family love it when I sometimes throw quotes at them! (Maybe...maybe not)

When I was teaching, I realised some children loved little inspirational boosts and mantras to keep them motivated. It also created opportunities to discuss what some of these words mean.

I discovered the Positive Teacher Company, who created this stunning poster alongside many other useful resources.

So when I was clearing up my study, and I found I hadn't recycled the poster. I decided "why don't I chop it up and save it in my bullet journal?"

It acts as a mini inspirational quote log that I can look back to if I need a mood boost.

Interestingly there are some of the words I have left out, because they aren't the words I want in my log. This is a personal choice because I'm not a fan of saying to myself "I am smart. I am gifted. I am enduring".

As with any creation in a bullet journal, it is a choice for what you prefer to keep or discard.

Top tips

  1. Always take a photo of the layout before you stick anything into your journal

  2. Save what you want for your journal and recycle what you don't

  3. Double sided sticky tape works much better than glue

Stage one: layout design

As I said above, I always take a photo of the layout of a log page. This helps me to see what the final page will look like and if anything needs adjusting.

Stage two: double-sided tape is the best

Now I'm happy with the layout, I bring out the double sided tape and cover all of the pieces going into the journal.

Most craft shops, Etsy and Ebay all sell a wide variety of double sided sticky tape. I used these two for my page.

Once I have taped every piece to go in the journal, I then peel off the tape and stick!

Stage three: inspirational log complete

I'm very happy with this final inspirational log! I will definitely be flicking to this if I need a little mantra for those tough days 💪

I'll see you next week,

Thank you for reading!
