Hi,

My blog this week is about create an inspirational quote page in a bullet journal.

I have many many quotes that I love but I recently saw lots of bullet journal pages with an inspiring quote on, so I decided to choose one of my favourites and only use fineliner pens and washi tape.

I usually use mandalas, multi coloured fineliners and washi tape when it comes to decorating pages or doodling in my journal so to only use washi tape and my black fineliner was tricky.

Also trying to focus on one quote was tough as I have a book full of my favourites!

In the end, I chose:

Doing what you like is freedom
Liking what you do is happiness

I then use stripes for the starter letters and the key parts of the quote I wanted to highlight: freedom and happiness.

Version One

This was before I decided to use more washi tape as a border.

One thing I will say is when you are writing quotes, use pencil first so you can have the words in alignment. This is something I will do next time, as the word freedom should be one square over to the left.

Final Version

I used four types of washi tape for this page: a thin pink and blue leaf pattern, butterfly with words as a background and the blue paint washi tape with a silver border.

I worked out that with the space I had left I could use a variety of different thicknesses to finish off the page, instead of using all of the thin washi tape.

When I was figuring out which of my many washi tapes go well together, I ended up accidentally stacking these together. That is how I chose my final design for this quote page: pure luck!

I always use Faber-Castell pens in my bullet journal as they barely smudge and do not bleed through the page I am writing on. They are great for outlining titles or doodles as well.

Thanks as always for reading,

Sophie
