Hello readers,
This week, I will be giving some handy tips for you to make your own skiing (or snowboarding) travel log.
I would say before you begin, you decide whether you want a front cover for your log or if you want to just create the travel log.
For instance, I used lots of inspiration from Pinterest and Google to find the right type of doodles I wanted for my front cover. Then, I adapted my designs to include where I was going and using a colour scheme based on the washi tape I used as a border.

Beneath that destination: cervinia with drawn mountains, trees, skis and ski poles in the snow](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/de696f_478b1e81e072417f8d219cbdd0ca39df~mv2.jpg/v1/fill/w_980,h_956,al_c,q_85,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_auto/de696f_478b1e81e072417f8d219cbdd0ca39df~mv2.jpg)
I used the Italian flag as a colour scheme for some of the doodles as well.
I also chose to leave the bottom half of my design in pencil rather than outlined in the fineliner pen. This was a personal choice, so it is up to you whether you outline your drawings and designs or not.
Top Tips for Travel Logs
Decide if you want a front cover
If yes: have a look online for some inspiration and draw up a design on spare paper before hitting the journal
If no: think about how long you are away and how many pages of your journal you need
Decide what are the key elements of your travels that you want to cover. Where are you going? What are you doing, eating, seeing? Etc
Add doodles, decoration, washi tape, and colour to your layout before starting to fill it out on your travels
There are many ideas out there of travel logs, and these are tips I find useful when creating my logs. If you ever make your own travel logs, feel free to tag me on my Instagram @sophsjournalideas. I would love to see them 😁
I will be sharing the progress of my ski trip travel log on my bullet journal Instagram starting on Sunday. No one knows what the actual log will look like except me until then! However, I will be covering it in a blog post when I return as well.
Next week, we will be wishing February a fond farewell and preparing for March.
See you then, and thanks for reading,
